On 2-4 November, Aktau will host two specialised regional expo events: Mangystau Oil & Gas 2010, and OilTech Mangystau 2010. They will be held at the Grand Nur Plaza Hotel & Convention Centre.

The exhibitors at Mangystau Oil & Gas will include over 60 companies from Azerbaijan, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Romania and Russia. The events are organised by the Kazakhstani exhibition company Iteca, together with its international partners from the United Kingdom and Russia. The organisers have seen significant growth in the event compared with last year: the exhibition area has increased by 40%.

Of the exhibitors, the oil production companies deserve a special mention - for instance, KazMunaiGas Exploration & Production JSC with its subsidiaries OzenMunaiGas and KarazhanbasMunai, as well as Mangystau MunaiGas JSC and Shell.

The exhibitors also include service providers in the oil and gas industry, and suppliers of oil and gas equipment, special clothing and environmental protection technologies. Among the major suppliers of oil and gas equipment, and service providers are such companies as AtyrauNefteMash LLP, ArcelorMittal Aktau, Prikaspiisky Mashinostroitelny Kompleks LLP, GMMOS Kazakhstan, Paker, and Larmax International BV.

The exhibition’s business programme will include several seminars by companies on the following topics: New Equipment and Technologies to Prevent Complications in Oil Production, and Industrial Parks: Investment, Infrastructure and Logistics.

The importance of the exhibition and conference is enhanced by official support from the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mangystau Region and Aktau City Administrations, and KazMunaiGas Exploration & Production JSC.

Sponsorship activity is yet another criterion by which to assess the demand for such international expo events. This year’s sponsors of Mangystau Oil & Gas and OilTech Mangystau are well-known international companies: ConocoPhillips Kazakhstan, Lloyd’s Register Kazakhstan LLP, Shell Kazakhstan Development B.V., and VWS Oil & Gas. Air Astana is the official airline of the events in Aktau.

The OilTech Mangystau 2010 technology conference will be held on 2-3 November, a few floors above the exhibition, in the conference room of the Grand Nur Plaza Hotel & Convention Centre. The conference will be attended by 100 delegates, who will hear and discuss reports by more than 30 speakers during the plenary sessions. The speakers include eminent figures, such as Krymbek Kusherbayev, Governor of Mangystau Region; David Moran, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan; Uzakbai Karabalin, General Director, Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas; and Gaziz Kusayin, General Director, TenizService. OilTech Mangystau 2010 will provide a forum for the discussion of major regional technical developments, including strategies for dealing with technical and environmental challenges, infrastructure development and investment opportunities, the transport network, and alternative energy programmes. OilTech Mangystau will bring together regional authorities, major oil and gas players, investors, consulting companies, suppliers, industry specialists, researchers and global financial institutions.

The conference will include a roundtable, with the participation of the Governor of Mangystau Region, on Infrastructure Development Projects in Mangystau Region and The New Aktau City Project.
